History of Makeup

The Word cosmetics comes from the Greek (kosmetike tekhne) that is the meaning of ‘’Technique of dress and Ornament’’ from (kosmetikos), it mean ‘’skilled on ordering or arranging’’ and that from (kosmos), meaning others ‘Order’ and ‘Ornament’. More


For the thousand of years women have been wearing cosmetics. In Egypt over 6000 years ago Archaeologists have evidence of men and women was using cosmetics. Wealthy Women of Egyptian would paint their nails, massage their faces with creams and oils, apply lipstick and eyeliner and even color their hair. Obviously over the last millennia things haven’t changed that much.
  
The Ancient Egyptian prepared their cosmetics thing with clay and oils (made with the occasional dash of mercury). Cosmetics are used by the ancient Egyptians and are even mentioned in the Bible. The Egyptians crushed beetle wings (for iridescence) and even use mineral makeup.

Ancient's Eye Look- Research carried out and scientists from the Louvre Museum identify that the heavy makeup of eyes were used in Ancient Egyptians like Cleopatra. Heavy makeup may have helped to fight off bacteria which can cause eye infections. Two types of eye makeup they prefer- Udju, were made from green malachite (green ore copper) from Sinai. Sinai means were considered under the spiritual dominion of Hathor, ancient goddess of beauty, joy, love & women. She bore the Epithet ‘’Lady of Malacchite’’






Next One– Mesdemet, a dark gray ore of lead was devired from either stibnite (antimony sulphide) or more typically, galena (lead sulphide). Galena was found around Aswan & on the RED Sea Coast. It was also among the materials brought back by Pharaoh Hatshepsut’s famed expedition to Punt & was given in tribute by Asiatic nomands. 
The makeup was taking to a month to formulate as the chemicals did not occur naturally. The black and green powders were applied to make thickly around eyes contain lead salts, which produce at low levels of nitric oxide.

Research found that these small amounts of lead could actually have a positive effect which boosts the bodies’ immune system making them less susceptible to bacterial infections such as conjunctivitis.Ancient Egyptian suggested that this makeup would have a magical effect on the wearer which would protect people against several illnesses.  More........
It was discovered lead raised the levels of physiological activity, has been recommended this compounds may have deliberately prevent eye infections by encouraging the action of the immune cells.
But now it’s fair no one encourages taking lead containing compound and definitely it is prohibited.
